Home Or Professional Dog Training

It can be a dilemma for dog owners as to whether or not to train their dog at home or go to a dog training school. Both have pros and cons.

Home training allows the individual to have constant contact with their dog. It is also free, which fits into most people’s budgets just perfectly. It also lets the dog know that there is a certain degree of decorum and obedience expected of them in the presence of their master or mistress. However, many people lack the training and knowledge or patience in order to make sure that they properly train their dog. For individuals that get frustrated easily, they may become too upset with their dog and nothing good can come of that and so professional dog training is the perfect answer.

Dog training schools are nice because all the work is done professionally and for or with the owner. However, it can be fairly expensive when it comes to where the individual is located and the prices of these sessions in that area. There can be wide variation in prices say between dog training in Scotland and for dog training in Cheshire. There is also the fact that the dog may come to be obedient primarily in the presence of the instructor and not in the presence of the owner.

It’s all down to individual choice and circumstances but there are positive and negative qualities to each decision. For the most part, the individual needs to assess themselves and see what it is that they can and cannot do. Knowing one’s weaknesses and strengths is vital, as well as knowing what would make the dog more comfortable and supported.
