Free Foreclosure List: but only from the government

There are numerous places advertising free foreclosure list, but most have a catch. There are many sites that advertise the free listings that are available from the government, but you must be a member of the site. One of these memberships can cost $38.95 a month with a free 7 day trial period. But to get the 7 free days you must have already given them your credit card number, not such a free deal.

Another popular scam is from real estate agents that advertise free listing of foreclosures. The details of the ads reveal wordings you often find in documents prepared by lawyers. Be prepared for statements like “Search real estate in our MLS or multiple listing services. The search results may include foreclosures.” Then of course it is always “If you found something you like call me.”

The web site www.freeforeclosuredatabase.com is a surprising site. This site breaks up the foreclosure listings by state, town, and zip code. The only details about the property are the asking price, location or address, the realtor that is representing the government agency that has foreclosed on the property, and a telephone number. This is an informative site and they did not ask for any money.

If you are looking to invest in this type of property, it is best that you first do your homework on the local and state’s laws pertaining to these types of transactions. You do not want to have someone else’s headache to become yours, because not all of these properties were foreclosed on because someone lost their job.

Most of all is to be aware that if they say free foreclosure list, the list might be free, but obtaining it is generally not.
