Laminate has been sold in Europe for approximately twenty years , however , it was not sold in the U. S. till 1996. Many people do not even recognize what laminate flooring is, though, the general public have heard of Pergo flooring, which is really laminate flooring. Actually, Pergo was the 1st type of laminate as its company essentially made laminate flooring. There are now more or less 40 other types of laminate flooring. Laminates are made of 3 necessary layers : the exterior wear layer ; the core ; and the backing.
 
 An outstandingly powerful aluminum oxide makes up the surface layer. A pattern is seen as you look at the floor. This pattern is essentially a printed picture that has been applied to the clear surface. The pattern is considered part of the surface layer, but lots of people consider it to be an extra layer. Laminates seem like wood flooring, when in reality, they’re actually photos of wood floors applied to melamine laminate.  The core board ( AKA the carrier board ) is made of various different materials. Many of them are a medium density fiberboard ( or MDF ). This product is a tricky engineered wood product ; it also is resistance to moisture. Further core boards may be wood particle core, but the MDF is a little stronger. However the particle core board soaks up glue better all along the joints. Each kind of core is good quality provided it is manufactured by a reputable business.
 
 The backing board is conditional on the manufacturer. It may range from a mere paper layer to an entire plastic laminate layer. Those backings that have laminate or Malamine keep up better if they encounter water damage than are those with paper backings. All backings make use of heat and pressure to mingle the layers.
